Aileen Donohoe

Aileen, a Wexford native, has just completed a four year run in the smash hit musical “Wicked” at London’s Apollo Theatre.  Appearing in over 2000 performances.  Awards include:   An Olivier Award, Evening Standard Theatre Award and Winner of the West End Eurovision.

Aileen played the lead role of Donna in “Mamma Mia” at the O2, Dublin and subsequently performed around the globe in the first international tour of the show.  On the West End stage she has appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, “The Phantom of the Opera”, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Count of Monte Cristo” (The Players Theatre), and “Zip Goes a Million” (Theatre Museum).

Aileen studied at Trinity College Dublin and at the Royal Academy of Music, London.  She was the winner of the  Royal Academy of Music’s prestigious D’Oyly Carte Bursary, which enabled her to embark on her professional career as a soloist at the Royal Opera House, London, where she performed in Kurt Weil’s “One Touch of Venus”.   She has appeared at the Royal Festival Hall, London in a number of popular and well loved operas, including, “La Boheme”, “Cosi fan Tutte” and “Carmen”.

Aileen has worked closely with Billy Roche as a member of his Tin Drum theatre company.  She played the role of Sonia, in Wexford and Dublin at The Andrew’s Lane theatre.  They are currently collaborating on a new collection of his songs including “Love Makes A Fool of You” from his film Trojan Eddie.

      We are going to film the show!

      Hopefully, we will take the show to the U.S.A, in which case, I’ll make sure you have a front row seat!
