Originally hailing from Ayr in South West Scotland, Robert graduated from The Royal Scottish Academy Of Music And Drama in Glasgow.

He was Musical Director of “Singin in the Rain’ at Chichester Festival Theatre and for it’s West End Transfer to the Palace Theatre starring Adam Cooper. He also produced the cast album. Also “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” at the London Palladium and subsequently New York and U.S tour. He supervised ‘Santa Clause and the Return of Jack Frost’, ‘Cinderella’ and “The Wizard of Oz” at the Mayflower in Southampton and was UK Musical Director of the smash hit musical “White Christmas” which has played Plymouth Southampton Edinburgh Cardiff and Manchester. He was also recently Musical Director for Aled Jones’ Australian Tour.

West End: “MR. CINDERS”, “LOOK TO THE RAINBOW”, “TORCH SONG TRILOGY”, “A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM”, “ME AND MY GIRL’, “RADIO TIMES”, “SHE LOVES ME”. Regional:’’CAROUSEL’ and ‘FUNNY GIRL’ (Chichester Festival Theatre) “OLIVER” “CRAZY FOR YOU”,”CABARET”, “ANNIE” and “SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS”.

His composition work includes a new production of “PETER PAN” at the Mayflower Theatre Southampton, incidental music for the national tour of Stephen King’s “Misery”, Dennis Potter’s “Blue Remembered Hills” at the Belgrade Theatre Coventry, and the award winning documentary film “Cruel Separation” narrated by Donald Sutherland and more recently for “The Sand Trap” a documentary examining fight for justice for young men trafficked to the UAE to be Camel Jockeys.
